If there is a difficulty,
it is that this is not an impulse venue. It is the one,
which requires planning and visit. Not that there is any
reason it should be an impulse restaurant- it is very visible
heading north from Surfers to Southport.
Once there, it is
captivating, particularly if you can sit on the outside
deck where the lights of cars crossing the bridge and those
of high rise Surfers produce a fairyland quality.
Inside there is a
bar and a semi open kitchen, tables are of green, solid
marble, imported from India like the rich upholstered red
and green chairs, outside tables are linen covered.
Decor is orange and there
is colorful tube lighting to make it place of warmth and
fun.
The diverse, sub-continental
cuisine of India has been influenced by every invader. From
the ancient Aryans as early as the sixth century B.C., to
the British who arrived in the 16th century.
The Greeks, Moguls, French and Portuguese have all at one
time had a hand in creating India’s exotic magical food.
The gracious chef makes
sure as an entrée we did not overlook his offering from
the Tandoor. A combination of Tandoori starters like chicken
tikka, sheekh kabab, burra Kebab, Tandoori Chicken along
with tasty samosa, onion bhajia and pakora makes a perfect
start for your dining. “Tandoori Sizzler” is a popular choice
among diners. This entrée offers Burra Kebab, a spicy marinated
lamb cutlet, Sheekh Kebab, lamb mince with herbs and spices
rolled on a skewer. The smoky flavour the Tandoor imparts
on these morsels cannot be matched by any other cooking
method. A delicious way to begin our journey across the
subcontinent.
The main courses displayed
on the menu are arranged into various categories- beef,
lamb, chicken, catch of the sea, vegetarian and a choice
of the banquet menu.
Apart from the delicious
Indian cuisine, Water Front also serves steak and seafood.
You can have a sea food platter consisting of prawns, crabs,
mortem bay bugs, mussels, oysters, lobsters along with fruits.

barramundi fish etc are also available. This excellent combination
of delicious Indian cuisine along with exotic sea food makes
Water Front the best choice for eating out.
